Yard of the Month!
SMHOA is aided by outside covenant enforcement management
Because work schedules and other obligations don't always allow the board to regularly review and make note of violations, SMHOA uses Sentry Management to help us out.
Please review the covenants, and don't hesitate to send a message to the board if you have any questions, concerns (or if you need to report covenants' issues yourself!). To send us a message, just use the form on the "contacts" page of this site.
Do those Overdue Dues!
Please remember that payments can be arranged, too; we're a neighborly neighborhood, after all!
Bills, bills, bills ...
The homes in our neighborhood are still new, and with the newest and most energy efficient features. That doesn't make us feel any better when we get our electric bills, though, especially since the costs of energy keep going up all across the nation.
But there are a few things we can do to keep our utility bills down, though - very simple and easy things, too, that don't require any costs. Unplug the microwave, the radio and other items when they're not being used, for example - that can take two-to-five percent off your bill. After all, those household items use electricity even when they are turned off. Change the setting on your thermostat by just one degree, and you can save another 2.6 percent. Use cold water only in your washing machine, and that could drop your bill by $5 a month. And turning off your computer when its not in use, or even just turning off the monitor, can save you as much as $10 a month.
These and other recommendations are detailed in a report by the US Department of Energy, which you can download right here from our HOA site. (See energy_savers1.pdf below.)
